Training

Dressage

Blue Moon Equestrian Center is proud to offer a strong dressage training program. Whether you are new to dressage, or a seasoned competitor, you will find what you are looking for in a training program that is tailored specifically to meet the needs of you and your horse.

On-site trainer and Director of Equine Operations, Breanna Bearden, strives to develop correct and effective riders through the fundamentals of traditional dressage. She follows the Conrad Shumacher Methodology of training. “Enhancing the rider’s physical and mental awareness to create maximum harmony with the horse is the cornerstone of the training philosophy.” – Conrad Shumacher

We are happy to host trainer Lindsay Slough of Kismet Sporthorses at Blue Moon Equestrian Center. Lindsay believes that the fundamentals of dressage are beneficial to any discipline of riding. She has worked her way through the FEI levels and her teaching reflects her intimate knowledge and experience in dressage. Blue Moon also offers access to other well-known and successful dressage or hunter/jumper trainers through on-site and off-site clinics. We regularly work with USDF Bronze Medalist and FN Bronze Medalist, Carrie Ferrer, to bring European-style educational programs to dressage enthusiasts in the area. Clients are encouraged to build a clinic and show schedule into their horse’s training program as well as their own.

Hunter/Jumper Training

Hunter/jumper training is provided through our resident interns or clinicians. Our students participate in several of the local hunter/jumper shows, as well practice regularly here at home. We provide several beautiful show jumps – everything you need is right here at Blue Moon Equestrian Center!
